The origins

GENIUS FISH was founded by two people, both parents of children with special needs.

It was this life experience that led to the idea of creating Genius Fish: to provide clear information and make it easier for parents to understand their child's development on a daily basis, which is often a source of concern. Our founders wanted to conceptualize this experience and make it accessible to as many people as possible. A lifelong project, they put all their skills at the service of this fledgling idea, both their extensive personal knowledge of the accompaniment of children with special needs, but also the techniques of data modeling and software development, in an attempt to create the digital tool that many parents and professionals have been waiting for.

We believe that experience should be shared.

The Vision

Our intention is very clear: Genius Fish is not intended to replace education or health professionals. Genius Fish's ambition is to facilitate collaboration between parents and the professionals who accompany children in their development, and to offer access to personalized advice and teaching, thanks to a network of certified professionals.

Helping children

Genius Fish aims to help children, whatever their specific needs, discover their talents, interests and dreams, and empower them to identify and overcome their challenges. To achieve this, Genius Fish will provide parents and teachers with online tools to track their child's progress and collaborate effectively with the network of professionals who support their development.

school efforts

In a second phase, Genius Fish will also facilitate schools' efforts to improve their methods and approaches, both online and in the classroom, in order to cope with the increasingly complex personalization of education. With the parents' agreement, Genius Fish will provide teachers and school assistants with information on the child's unique profile and appropriate knowledge of his or her particular development.

Genius Fish will significantly help therapists provide the right level of support to families, through the ability to easily connect with a network of parents, better collaboration and online interaction, or the ability to plan and orchestrate one-off or long-term parent coaching.

From the outset, Genius Fish wanted to surround itself with the best professionals in their respective fields.

Doctors, speech therapists, psychomotor therapists, after-school care assistants, school life assistants... they all work on a daily basis with a single goal in mind: to promote the development of our children. We believe that technology can improve communication and collaboration between you - the parents - and all the professionals who work with your child. It's by offering online sharing tools and targeted, personalized information that our initial concept takes on its full meaning.
Genius Fish works with the best software developers and IT architects to develop its applications. All content on the website or on the subscriber platform is systematically written, checked and co-approved by specialists in the target fields, and is awarded the "Certified Genius Fish" label, so that the relevance of the information never has to be an issue for you. Beyond the information, Genius Fish is a reassuring and caring guide.
Genius Fish professionals, experts in child development and experienced in accompanying children with specific needs, will be on hand to answer your questions. They will offer you personalized support, if required, not only for you, the parents, but also for your child's close relatives and professionals.

When it comes to data concerning children and certain medical or paramedical aspects, we have made no compromises. This data, which you provide and over which you have total control, will enable you to personalize your child's profile and learning path, as closely as possible to his or her specific needs. Genius Fish is an intelligent system: depending on the information you provide, the response will be appropriate. The more detailed the child's profile, the more relevant the Genius Fish recommendations will be. As a daily companion, Genius Fish will also help you set and plan achievable development goals, based on your child's natural development cycle, and in line with his or her strengths and challenges, so that you can see real progress on a daily basis and visualize development trends in each area over the long term. Virginie Lust

Founder & Managing Director

Mother of five children, three of whom have special needs, Virginie co-founded and runs the Genius Fish project, drawing on her experience in data management and the design, distribution and implementation of IT systems for major international groups.

Jurgen Lust

Founder & CTO

Having started programming as a teenager, Jurgen brings over 30 years' experience in the design and development of software solutions. He co-founded Genius Fish and is responsible for all technological aspects. He is also the father of five children, three of whom have special needs.

Anne Lasfargues

Head of Child Development & Technical Governance

Speech therapist and researcher, passionate about child development and committed to supporting families, Anne is our main Genius Fish Expert. She shares her scientific and clinical expertise in modeling our applications and ensuring the quality of our content.

Adélaïde Bressac

Product Manager

As a psychologist and psychotherapist, Adélaïde has always been keen to divide her time between personal support and research. She chose to join the Genius fish team at its inception to lead the design of the application and guarantee the universality of the offer.

Arnaud Rosset

Head of Communication & Marketing

With nearly 15 years' experience in the agency world, as a teacher at Ecoles Supérieures, and as an entrepreneur running two companies, Arnaud brings his expertise and strong digital DNA to Genius Fish's communications and marketing issues.

Nives Modic

User Research Engineer

Originally a sports teacher, Nives has worked in nurseries and schools in several countries, coaching children with special needs in sports and motor development in general. Nives is responsible for testing our application in its Prototype version under real-life conditions.
